Nick & Rachel Evans

Nick and I married in 2015. I had already managed to talk Nick into a cute black bi aussie puppy to help keep my older blue merle company after we moved to north Georgia. That little black bi was Cora and she quickly became all Nick’s.

We had moved to North Georgia because I accepted a job as a college lacrosse coach. Nick got to be a stay at home dog dad and that time with Cora is what inspired our journey into the world of dog training.

We found a couple of stock trials close to us and had watched but we had no stock of our own at the time to practice on. So instead Nick and Cora spent most of their time in the National forest and practiced other dog sports, mostly scent training. The scent training and time in the National forest led to tracking bears. Nick and Cora were able to spend almost a whole year in the woods tracking bears.

Nick was able to experience dog grandpa-hood and fatherhood for the first time at the same time because Cora and I were due within a week of each other. Cora had 7 adorable puppies and I had Walter, who was constantly on the move and convinced he was a dog for while. Now he has fully accepted his role as a dog trainer and if we are not outside training dogs he is talking about training dogs.

A few years have passed, we have added a few more dogs to the pack, and another child. Zeb is well on his way to being a dog trainer like his brother. Zeb has been on all of our dog competition trips and is often in a baby backpack during training.

We are both full time parents and full time dog trainers and excited to live the dog adventure life. We are lifetime members of the Australian Shepherd Club Association (ASCA) and members of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP).
